About

A Just Play Circles & Liberatory Pathways collaboration, Daughters of Lineages: Circle & Play offers both material and spiritual tools for collective healing, remembrance, and the honoring of lineage.

Rooted in a commitment to decolonizing our spiritual and wellness practices, this 2 day intergenerational closed-group workshop series invites participants to return to culturally grounded traditions, interrogate imposed narratives, and reclaim practices that honor the truth of our lineages.

Meet the Co-curators

Alexis Hyatt, LCSW

Alexis is a first-generation Jamaican American integrative psychotherapist and artist whose work bridges healing and creativity.

As a priestess in the Ìṣẹ̀ṣe/Ifá tradition, she draws upon ancestral wisdom and spiritual reflection as foundational elements of her practice.

Through Liberatory Pathways, LLC, she offers care rooted in narrative and embodiment practices. Her approach reflects an ongoing commitment to transformation, collective healing, and liberation.

Cindy Mahendar, MS

Cindy is a queer mama hailing from Trinidad and a survivor of state and interpersonal violence.

For over a decade, she has shown up as a facilitator, trainer, youth worker, space holder, abolitionist organizer, and restorative justice circle keeper specializing in conflict resolution interventions and strategies.

Through Just Play Circles, she offers spaces for community to gather and engage in play as ritual and healing. Grounded in abolitionist values, Cindy is committed to dreaming up and building liberated futures.

Art & Astrology with Kanacia James!

On day 2 of Daughters of Lineages: Circle & Play, we will be joined by astrologer Kanacia James of @solstarblueprint who will be facilitating a workshop called Paint + Portals – an art and astrology workshop created to deepen participants’ understanding of the current planetary energies and how they are making connections with their personal birth chart through a Sidereal Astrology lens.
